Jania M. Otey is an experienced advocate and advisor to small business clients.   While working with a large Maryland-based law firm for several years, she aggressively represented private and public sector clients in political asylum, discrimination, labor and employment litigation.  She currently counsels and works closely with our small business clients, preparing and filing organizing documents, providing legal advice regarding personnel matters, and training management and staff in matters relating to sexual harassment avoidance, federal and state labor and employment laws, and wage and hour compliance.  Otey also drafts and revises documents that are critical to the success of our small business clients, including but not limited to employment/contractor agreements, employment handbooks and discrimination policies.

In addition to counseling our business clients, Attorney Otey provides global estate planning services to our individual clients.  She prepares wills, trusts, financial and medical powers of attorney, advance medical directives, living wills and other documents vital to a comprehensive estate plan.  She also conducts seminars for churches and small organizations to explain the importance of properly planning for the end of one's days.
